I located the face at the bottom, and used a yellow-to-white gradient, to put across 'mirth' as a 'sunrise' brightening an otherwise 'washed out' environ. The first thing that struck me when i saw the above was that the smile reached the eyes, and was complemented by the cheeks. That was enough.

The above is an
unstaged shot. I went to the botanical gardens to shoot flowers, but
never being the sort to be perspectivally constrained by my intent, I saw this
providentially-gifted sight the moment I arrived and started snapping away. 'Monologue', or 'Self-Portrait' are apt titles.

I was on my way to the local coffee-shop to meet a friend when i chanced upon this most beautiful sight. I ran up to my flat, got my camera (Ricoh GX100) and lay down flat to record this moment in time. I wonder how many saw this. The leaf, to me, is the hand of God, and the droplet, a solar system within which is embedded another - perhaps ours - and which, i suppose, makes me an extra-terrestrial visitor.
All that glitters is not gold. For the black & white truth, look outside the canvas of your preconceived notions.
